Game 23 – 16.03.2024 – W – win

  • Accuracy 86.1%, 1300 rating
  • 4. Developing the N with tempo is better (Nbd2) as is c4
  • 6. See above, still the best moves
  • 9. better to develop (Nd2)
  • 10. Could have taken the free Ng4 with the Q (or Ne5)
  • 16. Better to counterattack the Q with Nf3; d3 is best square for the B if retreat; Bg6 would lead to nice tactic if captured
  • 18. Capturing the B with the pawn is better
  • 22. f2 is a better square for the K than h2 (1.3 better)
  • 23. Taking en passant is M9!

Game 24 – 16.03.2024 – B – win

  • 8. Re8 better (to “manually castle”)
  • 9. Kxe7, otherwise check on d5
  • 12. Rd8 better
  • 13. b6; Qd5
  • 17. Taking the pawn on g5 is actually best
  • 18. Still best to take the pawn (I wanted to immobilize the rook but g6 is bad for me)
  • 20. Bf5 or g6 to lock in the pawn
  • 21. Kg8 best defensive move
  • b6 to free up the B

Game 22 – 15.03.2024 – B – win

  • Accuracy 70.7%, rating 850
  • 9. Blunders my B, opponent didn’t see it
  • 11. Should have moved the B away to g5 in order to attack the Nd5 with c6
  • 12. Bg5 or Ndc5
  • 13. Nc5 to open attack on Q and move N up
  • 14. Bf6 to escape the mate threat
  • 17. Re8
  • 26. Ne5 would have been best as we are relatively safe now and want to develop further
  • 31. Nf3 would have been better
  • 32. Rd8 → M8 (idea is to play e3 to lure the B away and the Rf8+
  • 35. Rd3 is better
  • Summary: One bad blunder with the B, being under constant attack was quite nerve wrecking

  • Opponent resigned

Game 21 – 14.03.2024 – W – win

  • 71.7% accuracy, 850 rating
  • 6. Bb5 to pin the knight and not loose the pawn (take Nc6 if a6)
  • 7. c3 is better
  • 8. Pinning the N is still best
  • 9. Nb3 or Bb3
  • 12. Bad move, better Bb5+ or h3
  • 16. Missed free pawn on g7 or Nc7+ (thought about this move but didn’t see my Q covers the square)
  • 20. some better moves (b4) but trading is ok here
  • 21. Blunder that loses the Nb5, better: b4, e4, Na7+
  • 22. Rxd5 is quicker mate
